TURTLEHEAD

I started turtlehead in 2006 as a t-shirt label - part social commentary and part public art project. Each shirt was ethically printed in runs of 100, were eco-friendly, and sold out fast.

For the first drop, I emailed 10 of my favourite artists to collaborate. The next day, David Shrigley sent back a drawing - and just like that, turtlehead the collective was born. Marc Johns, Will Bryant, Si Scott, Jon Burgerman, and over 50 other brilliant artists followed. We opened a gallery in Dublin and ran exhibitions every two weeks, building a community that blurred the line between wearable art and underground culture.

Over the next 8 years, we sold t-shirts all over the world. We opened a physical gallery space, hit festivals, showed up at trade shows in London and Barcelona, and collaborated with incredible artists, bands, and charities. We met Tom Waits. We worked with Oxfam and The Polyphonic Spree. We (somehow) met Nickelback. We were featured in some amazing blogs, books, and TV shows.

It was chaotic, creative, completely DIY and it was real real fun.
